This new poem is my favorite. It is different from most of my other work, hopefully I will be given the inspiration to write more poems of this nature. EACH DAY will soon be published in IMMORTAL VERSES.
EACH DAY
Fill each day with joy and laughter
It’s never too late to start living happily thereafter
And here’s more advice, please don’t think it’s sappy
Each day do something that makes you happy
Live in the present, let go of the past
Embrace each day as it might be your last
And take some time to right every wrong
That friend you hurt could soon be gone
Don’t miss the chance, cause if you do
The stone left unturned may be cast at you
I’m sorry for ending with this worn out cliché
But Get Up, Get Out and Have a Nice Day!

- Sue Raymer Woods
- I was born in Owensboro Kentucky in 1939. When I was one, we moved to Indianapolis Indiana. I graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1957, and keep in touch daily with classmates through their website. I studied Accounting at Indiana University. In 1961, I married Philip A. Woods; we divorced in 1967. In 1969 I moved to San Francisco. In 1980, I was proud to be selected as a Reagan delegate to the RNC. I was re-elected in June 2008 to my 5th term as a member of the San Francisco Republican Party. I'm honored to have been selected aa a John McCain delegate to the 2008 RNC, but decided not to attend due to my disabilities. I live in SF's Castro area with my basset hound, Molly. She is the 4th in a series of bassets who have been my dear friends. In 2002, I suffered a severe stroke that left me disabled in my left limbs. With the help of prayer, I am gradually recovering. After retiring in 2004, I enrolled in writing classes at Osher Life Long Learning Institute (O.L.L.I.), see link. In addition to writing my memoirs, I am writing poetry and creating a family video.
